Who is Nick Twisp?

I have began to realize that Nick is totally crazy. He has been doing things that are totally out of the reach of sane teenagers. He has risked everything in his life and gone to extreme extents to spend time with his girlfriend. I began to realize this when I was thinking about how Sheeni was crazy, and now I realize the truth, they both have issues. I don't necessarily think that they are crazy in the same ways, I think that they each have their own unique problems.
Nick has gone to extremes throughout this book to try and be with his love. Whether he is scheming an elaborate plan, costing the welfare of others, or deceiving the woman he loves herself, he is always up to something. He often tricks others into doing his biding. He repeatedly made Dwayne pay him fees for ridiculous things. He also told Bernice that he loves her and wants Sheeni to get kicked out of school because he doesn't like her anymore, so that she would help him get her booted out of Santa Cruz. Nick has become quite deceitful.
I am still rooting for Nick of course, but now I am beginning to question whether he really is the good guy here, or if he is bad. Not to say that Nick isn't "bad," but whether the people against him or the people he's against are right, or if he is. I don't really think of Nick as a bad person, but he has done a lot of awful things along the course of this book, so I'd have to say he is somewhere in-between with the alibi that, to a certain extent, he is mentally insane.

Sheeni, Is a Complete Nut.

I am currently reading Youth In Revolt, by C.D. Payne. I think that Sheeni is insane on so many levels. There are some things about her character that I like, but mostly, she gives me the creeps. Apparently she is in love with Nick. I guess it is true, but something about her makes me feel like it isn't. Her actions signal that she doesn't care so much about Nick, but then she always says something that would show otherwise, and reassures Nick of it. It almost seems like she is playing with him, that he is some big game to her. I think the reality is that Sheeni feels the same way about Nick as Nick does about her, except for the fact that she doesn't expect to stay with him forever, while he does. I think this is because Sheeni is used to people taking a liking to her, and knows that most guys would take her. While Nick had pretty much never been liked by anyone before, and knows that he doesn't have a lot of options, and he thinks that this is the best one he will ever get.
Sheeni is constantly making things bad for Nick, who in reality, though his life may suck now, has the potential to do a lot, and become very successful. Sometimes I feel like Sheeni is using Nick, but then she does other things that would show otherwise, like agreeing to break up with Trent. I think that her insanity is part of what Nick finds so alluring about her, but I also think that he has yet to realize, that in many ways, the love of his life is quite evil. I wonder where everything will stand at the end of the book. If Sheeni and Nick will be together, where Nick will be staying, his relationship with his parents. I really have no idea, there is still so much of the book left.
I some how imagine that Nick and Sheeni will find a way to spend time together. I am still puzzled as to how this will happen. I like how these two teenagers have started this revolt that only they know about. The things that Nick begins to do because of this are crazy. He encourages himself with his alter ego known as François. François is the bad-ass, French character who walks above the rest of the world and has no law but his own. This character that Nick created has become dangerous to him, but he has also been very helpful to him as well. Sheeni has opened a whole new chapter in his life. It all started on a lake beach. I wonder where it will end.
